The Atlanta Braves are in Philadelphia for a four-game series from the Phillies.
As Mike Soroka didn’t have a standout performance for the Braves yesterday day, their winning streak came to a conclusion at nine games. Max Scherzer took control early, with controlling his pitches, although Soroka was have difficulty. The Nationals pounced to get a 9-4 triumph over the Braves and were able to take advantage.
The last games of the regular are far more significant for the Nationals, as they remain and try in the Wild Card Game. The Nationals will be hosting the Chicago Cubs if this game were now. More significant is how the Phillies function down the stretch.
Philadelphia are in desperate need of a few wins in September. Two games may seem like nothing, but they’re currently competing against the Brewers, Diamondbacks, and Cubs. The Mets at four matches are still in the conversation . They have a whole great deal of competition to handle.
There is A shortage larger than it seems. In any case, having to perform with lights out down to achieve the Wild Card Game isn’t exactly what the office had in mind for this group. They were planning to signal Bryce Harper and it was likely to put them.
Not even close, as the Phillies are two touchdowns and two additional factors behind the Braves in the NL East. The team to the Braves in the division are the Nationals at nine games back. So, Atlanta are in a position that is fantastic and is clinch.
How I see it, they are however, we will see how things play out. Mike Foltynewicz has been heating up of latenight. His re-emergence would help tremendously. Folty gets the nod from Aaron Nola tonight in Philadelphia. Head below for our free Braves vs. Phillies pick.

Mike Foltynewicz had a coming out party in Atlanta last season. He previously had a career-high ERA of 2.95 and there were lofty expectations for him to follow this up with another successful campaign in 2019. For the most part, this season hasn’t gone as planned for Foltynewicz. That is an understatement, as he conveys a 5.28 ERA and then also 1.41 WHIP into Philadelphia on Monday night.
Is he starting to find things out in the time to the Braves? He retains an ERA of 1.62 and 1.14 WHIP in his previous three outings. August 8th was the day that he allowed more than just 3 runs in a match. The match that got him going was an impressive showing against the Dodgers, as Foltynewicz allowed only 4.2 innings of work. A solid showing from a team like the Dodgers could be precisely what he desired.
If Foltynewicz isn’t pitching like a flash in the pan which can be for real, then the Braves would find a lift for their pitching staff in October. In addition to Teheran and Soroka, the Braves would be in shape than they were. He has been solid against the Phillies in his career, as they’re hitting .230 in 252 at-bats.
Nola has been just fine. He has submitted a 4.67 ERA in his previous three starts. The Braves have linked for 23 runs and 9 home runs from 257 at-bats against Nola. In these 252 at-bats that the Phillies have experienced Foltynewicz, they have recorded 7 home runs and 15 runs.
The Phillies are the team, but it does not always equate into a triumph. Getting +115 on the Braves here looks like a terrific deal. It is being felt by folty and that I think the Braves are being hammered at this price Monday.
