Cleveland Indians at New York Yankees MLB Pick – August 16th

As soon as the Philadelphia Phillies paid Bryce Harper $330 Million dollars in the offseason, they did this because they needed to make a player which could win them a match by himself. Bryce got his opportunity last night as he created the bases loaded at the bottom of the ninth inning, with his Phillies team trailing by two runs. And he did not disappoint as he smashed a moonshot, top decker, grand slam home run, to walk off the game to the Phillies.
The explosion completed an improbable comeback that saw the Phillies hit the bottom of the ninth down 5-1. They won the game 7-5. The late-game heroics also pushed the sport on the total of nine and a half an hour, and we picked up our second straight winning wager. It had been the definition of a back-door cover!
The match itself went much like I thought it would as Drew Smyly was awful for Philly. I asked why they even traded for a man like Smyly who was having such a bad year, and he has banged up last night, giving up five runs on seven hits in just five innings of work. He did everything he had to push the match to the over, but Cubs starter Yu Darvish was lights out in seven innings, allowing no runs.
It seemed as if we were going to have a hard-luck loss, before Harper and the remainder of the Phillies battered the Cubs bullpen for seven runs in the last two innings. We have a little bit lucky late in the match, but this is the reason why a wager on the over is so exciting, you are never from the game until the last pitch is chucked! For the current wager, we’ll visit the Bronx where the Yankees host the Cleveland Indians.
The Cleveland Indians are in New York City Friday for game two of a four-game series with the Yankees. The Indians burst to get a nineteen runs in game one to take the series lead. Jose Ramirez and Carlos Santana both had numerous home runs, also seven unique guys drove runs in, headed by Ramirez who had six RBI on the night.
The triumph was a huge one for Cleveland since they’re in a tight race with the Minnesota Twins for the American League Central Division title. With the win , the Indians are actually only a half a match back of Minnesota for first place. The Indians are 10-5 in the month of August.
For New York, they are at little risk of providing up first place in their division, the American League East, since they hold a nine and a half-game lead across the Tampa Bay Rays, and also have the best record in the significant leagues, tied with the Los Angles Dodgers. The reduction was a rare one for New York as they had won thirteen of the past fifteen matches this month before getting blown out last night.
Beginning for the Yankees is currently Masahiro Tanaka (8-6 4.64 ERA), and also for the Indians, it’s Aaron Civale (1-1 1.00 ERA). The match complete over-under is set in ten and a half runs. The Yankees are -144 home favorites. First pitch is scheduled for 4:05 PM PST from Yankee Stadium in New York .
The New York Yankees are finally receiving their lineup wholesome, and you’re able to see the difference at the plate. The Yankees are leading the majors in runs scored this past month, and really, it’s not even that close. Even the Houston Astros and their juggernaut lineup have scored six fewer conducts the Bronx Bombers this season, along with the third-place team, the Minnesota Twinsare a distant twenty-eight runs behind New York. The Yankees have blasted forty-two home runs in sixteen matches this month, as well as a staff, they’re hitting almost .300 because the transaction deadline.
When you look at the match complete for New York, then they’ve gone nearly every match in the past few weeks. During the month of August, the Yankees and their opponents have combined for double conducts in thirteen of the games. A significant part of that is their powerful lineup, but New York is experimenting with a lot of young men in the bullpen, and we watched last night that occasionally those experiments could go wrong.
Masahiro Tanka has really struggled since the All-Star break. In his six starts as the break, his ERA is over seven runs. In Julyhe had an ERA of nearly nine runs as he gave up twenty-five runs in five starts, including seven home runs. But in spite of the fact he has not been really good this year, the Yankees look to discover ways to win when he is still on the mound. New York has won ten of his last eleven starts.
Tanaka has allowed four runs or more in a start ten occasions this season. This includes a start a couple months back where the Boston Red Sox nailed him twelve runs in 3 innings. To say the man was inconsistent would be a major understatement. He can still occasionally appear though. We saw that last week after he tossed eight shutout innings against the Toronto Blue Jays. It will be interesting to see what Tanaka brings to the park tonight because the Cleveland Indians are definitely not the Toronto Blue Jays.
Aaron Civale left his major league debut at a spot start on June 22nd for Cleveland and seemed good in six innings of work. The Indians have predicted Civale up here in August to aid a playoff drive, and the youngster was great. In both August starts since rejoining the group, Civale has pitched six innings in both games and has allowed only one run in each appearance.
I see fireworks arriving tonight! The Yankees can not stop scoring runs, and with Tanaka around the mound, with a tired bullpen that got blasted for fourteen runs yesterday behind him, I see the Yankees giving up a lot of runs too. Civale has certainly been impressive in his short stint in the big leagues, but he’s about to receive a rude awakening . Shutting down the Texas Rangers along with the Detroit Tigers does not mean you are going to have the ability to slow down these red-hot Yankees. Welcome to the series kid!
This is one of those games that could turn mad like last night’s affair that saw twenty-four runs appear on the board. After getting embarrassed on their home field last night, I see New York showing no winner for this rookie tonight. And most of us understand that Tanaka is going to give up at least a couple of runs too. Therefore, I am going to take the over in this one tonight.
And shockingly, the public appears to be on the beneath, as we can get dog money on the above right today at +102. You’ve got two choices here. Take the above ten and a half at +102, or expect the below actions to maintain coming, and wait for the line to adapt to ten runs in -110. Personally, I will take the extra juice since I see this 1 sailing way over, and I want the greater payout more than the half a jog. But I could see a case for waiting on the line to proceed too. As it stands now, I will take the over ten and a half runs tonight in the Bronx in +102!
