Diamondbacks vs. Brewers MLB Pick – August 24th

Last night the Arizona Diamondbacks arrived at Milwaukee with no interest in playing. The Brewers held on for an easy 6-1 victory and acquired out early to a 3-0 lead in the 1st inning. Merrill Kelly had an off night to the Diamondbacks. Kelly ultimately completed with 8 hits and 6 earned runs allowed in 4.1 innings. That was all the runs for the Brewers, as the Diamondbacks’ bullpen settled in and pitched following Kelly’s mess.
The Diamondbacks weren’t coming back together with their crime playing like that, however. Jordan Lyles no-hit that the Diamondbacks in 6 innings, but the Brewers failed to find the. Devin Williams and Jeremy Jeffress every surrendered a bang. By a margin of 13 to 2, the Brewers outhit the Diamondbacks From the end of the competition. The Diamondbacks must be better than that to find a win in Milwaukee this weekend.
They’re likely to get to be far better compared to that attempt, Should they need to be playing baseball in October. At this point, there is faint hope that the Diamondbacks will go to the postseason. They are not dead yet, but their opportunities are slim. The Diamondbacks go into Saturday down 5.5 games at the National League Wild Card Game race. The Brewers are closer, but still 3 games back to get a wildcard and 3.5 rear of the Cardinals in the NL Central.
The Brewers will have to find hot soon. With so much competition they need to cope with, it is not an easy road, although that doesn’t seem like a great deal of games. Lyles did all he could last to provide the Brewers some hope. Chase Anderson will seem to duplicate that performance Saturday against rookie Zac Gallen. The way Zac Gallen has been pitching this year, I am not so convinced the Marlins are ecstatic about trading him away. It was a prospect for prospect bargain and the Diamondbacks were seeing results from this prospect. Gallen was strong with the Marlins, posting a 2.72 ERA and seven begins. As he’s improved since departing Miami, the trade has not seemed to bother him one bit. It has just been three starts because a Diamondback and Gallen was effective with a 1.80 ERA in 15 innings.
Having said that, Gallen’s resume has not been sterile. Yes, he allowed just 3 earned runs. However, a closer look suggests that he had to work really hard out of jams to ensure possible. Gallen let 9 hits and a walk. He had been lucky to get out of Coors Field with just 2 earned runs allowed.
The same thing happened in his second excursion. He gave up only 1-run in 6 innings, but got into trouble. Gallen yielded 5 hits and 6 walks, even as his hands was a little all over the area. That could catch up to a young pitcher .
Gallen’s opponent tonight is currently coming from his most ugly excursion of the year. Chase Anderson never needed it since he had been rocked for 9 hits and 10 earned runs in Washington. Anderson was pitching nicely, with ten games without allowing over 3 runs in a game.
He allowed 2 or less years. Anderson has been quite good from the Diamondbacks from the past, as they are hitting just .214 with 1 home run. Expect Chase to make a dip back performance against the Diamondbacks. Gallen was hanging by a thread that the past two games. Start Looking Saturday, to reach him.
