Diamondbacks vs. Rockies MLB Pick – August 13th

The Arizona Diamondbacks got behind early night, with a 4-0 hole early in the 1st inning. But, that did not dissuade them by clawing back and notching an 8-6 win. The Rockies scored only 2 more runs in the contest, which might have been the most surprising part of the game. Blowing a 4-run guide at Coors Field, especially after only 1 inning of drama, is not a shocker in almost any way.
However, the Rockies getting basically shutdown the remainder of the game is a bit of a surprise. It looked like it had been shaping up to be just another 13-11 Coors Field classic in the moment. The bullpen had been the winners last night for the Diamondbacks. They went strong innings without allowing a run following Merrill Kelly left the game.
You may have forgot about that the Diamondbacks later they exchanged Zack Greinke, but they’re still here and not going away. Despite trading their genius, the Snakes are thinking postseason for a wildcard. It’s not likely to be simple to accomplish, but they’re within striking distance at 2.5 games back of their last wildcard. That leaves them sufficient space to move on a run in September.
It’s not enjoy the Diamondbacks didn’t get anything at the deadline. They could exchange Zac Gallen, for a luminous potential. I think Gallen was a huge purchase from the Diamondbacks, who they’ve been in a position to begin immediately with Greinke gone. He is starting and contributing to the Diamondbacks right out of the get-go. Gallen gets the nod from Jon Gray of the Rockies tonight. Head below for our complimentary Diamondbacks vs. Rockies choice.

Zac Gallen has done everything asked of him from his youthful career thus far. He surfaced earlier this year with the Marlins and was pitching. Gallen felt comfortable with all the Diamondbacks instant, since he threw a gem in his very first outing as a Diamondback. He allowed just 1 hit, therefore it was a debut for the kid in the desert. The Marlins took the training wheels off him in June and introduced him as a fulltime starter in the rotation.
Gallen was on stage, as he posted an ERA of 2.72 with the Marlins in seven outings. He allowed two or more runs with no longer than 3 runs, in six games. Gallen brought his ERA down to 2.40 following scoreless ball versus the Phillies.
This is going to be a more tricky place tonight in Coors Field. It’s a place that pitchers hate to pitch, but it is not like Jon Gray has done outstanding contrary to the Diamondbacks or anything. The offense should afford Gallen would a run support.
Gray has given a .294 batting average and .340 OBP to the Diamondbacks in 136 at-bats. There are nine different hitters about the Arizona roster which have hit greater than .300 against Gray, so they’ve been able to get some enjoyment against him previously. There are hitters in this lineup which Gray should be conscious of.
After Gray, a pretty bad bullpen follows to the Diamondbacks. The Rockies’ bullpen is currently 28th in the majors with an ERA of 5.24. Unexpectedly, the Diamondbacks are all 13th with a 4.34 ERA. The oddsmakers aren’t giving Gallen much admiration here, but I’m going to give him a vote of confidence using a play on the Diamondbacks this day.
