Galway football manager Kevin Walsh steps down

Galway have been on the lookout for a brand new football manager after the resignation of Kevin Walsh on Tuesday.
He Sligo manager took charge of their Tribesmen for five seasons, overseeing progress in that time. The Westerners attained Division 1 status picked up two Connacht titles and merged that place through his reign.
They bridged a 17-year gap by choosing up a championship win at Croke Park final summer and attaining an All-Ireland semi-final.
But they were unable to reach the Super 8s this season after a provincial reduction to Roscommon and a qualifier defeat to Mayo.
There will not be a shortage of high-profile titles connected to the role, along with the county is well placed to compete in the top table in the coming years, with victory at underage and club on a national phase.
