Juventus’ Emre Can ‘shocked’ at Champions League omission

Juventus midfielder Emre Can states he is”stunned” at being left out of this club’s Champions League squad, and it has suggested he will find a move away in the Italian champions in January.
May made 37 appearances for Juventus last season after joining on a free transfer from Liverpool, but has found his first-team chances after Aaron Ramsey and Adrien Rabiot’s advent this summer.
This is a surprise omission from the club’s 22-man squad for the Champions League this season and the German says he’d have pushed for a movement had he knew he would be left outside by Maurizio Sarri.
“I am not in the group for the Champions League which actually shocked me yesterday, because I was assured differently weekly,” May told Sky at Germany.
“Hence I would not have remained at Juventus, since it had been the primary condition for me to become part of the Champions League squad.
“It’s a deep shock for me personally and I can’t know it. I played in the Champions League this past year. There has not been any explanation.
“Juventus phoned me yesterday, the phone call was less than one minute and they told me:”You are not in the group.
“I need to play from the Champions League, I Need to play in the Champions League. When I am back, I will talk to the club and we will see what happens.”
