Mets have 30-to-1 odds to win 2019 World Series

The Red Sox would be the 2018 World Series winners, however it’s never too early to start taking a look at the chances for next year.
Westgate Sportsbook at Las Vegas introduced its 2019 World Series odds shortly after Boston’s Game 5 clinching victory on Sunday and the oddsmakers have the Mets right at the middle of the pack to win the World Series next year.
The Mets are listed at 30-to-1 odds to win the World Series and also 15-to-1 chances to win the National League pennant.
It definitely could be better, although it could also be a whole lot worse, especially for a team which had the fifth-worst album from the National League this year.
However, oddsmakers are feeling a lot better about the rest of the NL East.
The Braves, who won the division this year, are favored at 12-to-1 odds to win the World Series while the Nationals are in 16-to-1 and Phillies are in 18-to-1.
The Miami Marlins are among a few of the worst chances, however, in 200-to-1.
The Red Sox and Astros are both preferred to win the World Series next year in 6-to-1 chances while the Dodgers would be the NL favorites at 7-to-1 despite losing the World Series the previous two seasons.
The Yankees are also 7-to-1 favorites.
With the Mets being right in the center of the activity and free agency to come, they could go one of 2 ways. Much will depend on the direction anticipated new GM Brodie Van Wagenen requires the team this winter.
