Padres vs. Giants MLB Pick – August 30th

The San Francisco Giants have one more month to get things together and go on a run. That run will need to come soon after becoming shut because they are unexpectedly seven games back of a wildcard. Rather than selling in the deadline, the Giants made a decision to provide a go to the postseason and kept Madison Bumgarner.
As other teams have stepped onto the gas pedal, it hasn’t gotten better for these because then, however. Cubs, and the Mets, Diamondbacks Phillies all are ahead of them moving into Friday. Final night they didn’t start off in the show against Chris Paddack.
Paddack was sharp at a 5-3 win for the Padres. He allowed just 1 earned runs while Dereck Rodriguez was tagged for 5 earned runs in five innings. It was a night for Paddack who needed a night like that. He had been fighting when the newcomer was getting tired, and folks were questioning.
That could happen to an old pitcher that hasn’t been through a big league season. Paddack managed to find everything straight night. The Padres are back than the Giants in the NL still.
They are ten games back of a wildcard, which fairly well seals their fate. The first year with Manny Machado in San Diego is a bust. There’ll be pressure with each season throughout his lengthy contract over the Padres.
Bumgarner will get the phone to try and get the Giants back on track tonight. They are in danger of losing 7th competition and their fourth straight game in their previous 9. Dinelson Lamet will look to make it five losses in a row to the Giants. Head under for free Padres vs. Giants pick.

Bumgarner will be up for a new contract for next year, so it is going to be fascinating to see what he needs. The Giants didn’t exchange Bumgarner. It he ends up back in San Francisco after he stayed here. This group was never a lock to go to the postseason this season with or without him.
Holding onto him may or may not have been the best move. We’ll have to wait and see about that. In any event, Bumgarner has proven he can pitch in the slightest at a high level. Perhaps his ERA of 3.71 is not his very best. In fact, he’s set to complete with the worst ERA of his career.
Many flashlights would be thrilled with a 3.71 ERA, however. Bumgarner has recently posted an ERA of 2.95 and 0.93 WHIP at San Francisco, with let 3 or less runs in his last 12 appearances at home. The previous time he gave more than 3 runs up at home had been on April 26th from the Yankees.
The Padres have fought, against Bumgarner in previous matchups, like most teams. They are hitting just .194 at 155 at-bats versus Bumgarner. He needs to be able Friday night to outpitch Lamet in this competition. Lamet enters San Francisco with an ERA of both 5.06 along with 1.38 WHIP in his past three competitions.
He has surrendered seven earned runs in his last 11 innings. Lamet has been a bit wild with his control, having yielded 11 walks in his past four outings. Obtaining Bumgarner at this price seems like a very great deal. Despite the win to the Padres, they are in their last nine meetings against the Giants. The Giants likely ride the arm Bumgarner to a win Friday night in Oracle Park.
